Our headline act, Abalicious, are the UK’s ultimate ABBA tribute act – you might have seen them on television. With many years’ experience touring as Agnetha, Benny, Bjorn and Anni-Frid, Abalicious are vocally and technically flawless, bringing the magic of ABBA to a spectacular stage show. Don’t “take a chance” – make sure you see these “super troupers” live on stage!
Are you ready to join in? The Bierkeller Schunklers Oompah Showband don’t just want you to sing along… they want you to dance, clap, play games, march, yodel and basically join in all the fun they create on stage. They’ll be playing a huge range of songs, from traditional to rock ‘n’ roll.
The unmistakeable sound of the Band of the Royal Marines creates a true sense of occasion and a real sense of pride among the audience. These inspirational musicians are all serving marines, bringing the tradition of playing live to boost morale and entertain the public into the present day. (Of course, owing to the nature of their military work, there’s a chance the band members will be called into service, but we hope to see them perform on 9 July)
The film Military Wives made us all realise the importance of friendships and community. Honington Military Wives’ Choir share their love of singing with a programme featuring plenty of familiar favourites – some of which might even bring a tear to the eye. Off-stage, for more than a decade the choir has helped to forge friendships in the community around RAF Honington.
Step back in time on a fabulously nostalgic journey as the Ruby Sisters bring the past to life. This talented local duo specialise in 1940s-style songs – you might have seen them as part of the Dad’s Army Museum summer event series. Tap your feet and allow yourself to be transported back 80 years ago.
The RAF Honington band presents a fantastic combination of inspirational military music and the chance to see local talents in action. You’ll see RAF personnel playing alongside civilians living near the RAF base – together, they create a brilliant community ensemble, with plenty of tunes you’ll recognise.
During the afternoon, in the beautiful grounds of Euston Hall, you’ll find a huge range of things to do – in fact, there’s something for all the family. The super-active among you might like to try out our military boot camp, scale the climbing tower, have a go at archery or get involved in a NERF battle. Military history fans will love to wander around our display of World War II vehicles including the Desert Rats, or have a photo taken with the original Dad’s Army van. We’ll also have a fire engine on display, two steam engines (from the Burrell Museum) and a chance to take a ride in a helicopter! You can even try out our very own car gymkhana; just remember to bring your co-pilot with you!
Food and drink
If you don’t fancy bringing a picnic, don’t worry – we’ve got it covered. A range of food stalls and vendors will be operating all day, as well as a fully licensed bar and hot drinks concessions.
